# Take the holiday. Your turnovers still run.

**In short:** Jobs are offered up to two weeks ahead, a declined or ignored offer moves to the next cleaner on its own, photos arrive as each clean finishes, and only a delay, a problem or an emergency reaches you. You can be on a beach in Protaras or in another time zone; the schedule does not know the difference.

## The reason hosts do not take holidays

It is not the money. It is the phone. Somewhere in the second week a guest will extend, a cleaner will be ill, a booking will land for the day after tomorrow, and the whole arrangement turns out to have been held together by you answering within twenty minutes. So you take four days instead of fourteen, and you check WhatsApp at the pool.

The fix is not a better cleaner. It is a schedule that does not need you in the loop unless a decision is genuinely yours.

## What runs while you are away

- **The calendar keeps being read**, every five minutes, from Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or your PMS. New bookings become cleaning jobs at the checkout time of that property. Extended stays move the job and tell the cleaner.
- **Jobs are assigned two weeks ahead**, to the cleaner you ranked first for that property. If she declines or does not answer within an hour, the offer moves to the next name in your order. If you set an urgent job, it can go to the whole team at once.
- **Reminders go out** the day before. The job link carries the address, the access details and the checklist, so nobody messages you to ask.
- **Photos arrive** as each area is done. You can look at them from the beach, or not look at all and trust that they exist.
- **Supplies are tracked.** Cleaners report what they used up; a low-stock warning shows on your dashboard before the last roll of toilet paper is gone.
- **Payouts accumulate.** Lemon totals what each cleaner is owed while you are gone; you mark the batch paid when you are back.

## What reaches you, and only that

Three kinds of message can interrupt a holiday: a cleaner is delayed, a cleaner has hit a problem, or there is an emergency. Each level decides how loudly it arrives, and an emergency bypasses your quiet hours. A job that nobody accepted also reaches you — rarely: 92 per cent of offers are accepted, and the cascade exists so one no is not your problem.

Everything else — the eleven turnovers that went exactly as planned — does not.

## Before you go

Ten minutes the evening before the flight:

1. Check the cleaner order for each property and that every property has a second name in it.
2. Decide whether jobs are auto-approved (they are, by default) or whether you want to approve each one. For a holiday, let them run.
3. Set your quiet hours, so a routine message does not wake you in a different time zone.
4. Tell your cleaners you are away. They will not need to contact you, but they like knowing.

## The evidence that it holds

Since 12 February 2026, Lemon has created 533 cleaning jobs from calendars in Cyprus, sent 2,906 messages to cleaners, and made only 10 automatic cancellations out of 1,445 sync decisions in the 30 days to 10 September — every one logged. A confirmed job is never cancelled on calendar evidence alone within 24 hours of checkout; it is held for you instead. That is the difference between a schedule that survives a fortnight without its owner and one that does not.
