**Short answer:** The clean between two stays. In Lemon a turnover is a checkout cleaning job created for every guest checkout, scheduled at the property's checkout time (default 11:00) and expected to finish before the next check-in (default 15:00). A same-day turnover is when both fall on the same date.

Turnovers are the unit of work Lemon exists to schedule. Each one carries the property, the scheduled date and time, the job type (`checkout`, `mid_stay` or `manual`), an urgency, the assigned cleaner, the checklist and photo areas, and a timeline: offered, confirmed, started (optionally with a GPS check), photos submitted, completed. 506 of the 533 jobs Lemon has created since February 2026 are checkout turnovers; the median takes 93 minutes.

A turnover is also the unit the calendar engine protects. Every guard in the sync — re-key adoption, the forward-trim pin, the merged-block rules, the imminent window — exists so that a turnover that is real keeps its cleaner and a turnover that is not does not send one. The average stay on Lemon's estate is 4.8 nights, so a property sees roughly six turnovers a month in season.
