How are mid-stay cleanings scheduled for long bookings?

Settings per property

For each property you choose:

• whether mid-stay cleaning is on or off;
• how many nights between cleans;
• whether Lemon creates the jobs automatically or only suggests dates;
• whether suggestions show on the dashboard for stays that qualify.

What happens during a long stay

When a confirmed booking is longer than the interval, Lemon works out the mid-stay dates from the check-in. In automatic mode each date becomes a mid-stay job at the property's usual time and is offered to your cleaners like any other job. In suggestion mode the dashboard shows the dates with "Create" and "Remind me"; "Remind me" snoozes the suggestion rather than dismissing it, so a host who is waiting to confirm with the guest is nudged again later.

Mid-stay jobs carry the job type in the cleaner's message ("Type: Mid-stay cleaning"), so the cleaner knows the guest is in residence and the scope is lighter.

Long stays booked on Booking.com

Booking.com's calendar does not show guest names, so a long booking looks the same as you closing the property. So on Booking.com, a booking longer than 30 nights is treated as you closing the property, and no job is created. Any stay longer than 90 nights is held for you to review rather than confirmed automatically. If you take genuine monthly stays on Booking.com, confirm them once on the dashboard, or connect a PMS so the reservation arrives with its details.

Numbers

Mid-stay jobs are a small fraction of production volume — 6 of 533 jobs — which matches the average stay length of 4.8 nights (median 4) on Lemon's estate.

Technical details

• The property settings are midStayCleaningEnabled, midStayCleaningInterval, midStayCleaningMode (automatic jobs or suggested dates) and midStaySuggestDates.
• Automatic mid-stay jobs have the job type mid_stay and go through the normal cascade.
• A guest-nameless block longer than 30 nights on Booking.com is treated as an owner closure and skipped, because Booking.com's export cannot distinguish a long stay from the host closing the property. A named stay longer than 90 nights is held for review rather than auto-confirmed.
