No app, no account, no training: why your cleaners will actually use Lemon

A cleaning job offer as the cleaner sees it on their phone — property, address, date, time, and accept or decline buttons

In short

Cleaners get job offers on Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS or email and open the job from a link: today's address, the access details, the checklist and the camera. Nothing to install, no password to forget. 15 of Lemon's 20 production cleaners use Telegram, and 92 per cent of job offers are accepted.

Why cleaning software usually dies in week two

It is rarely the host who gives up. It is the cleaner. She was sent a link to an app store, asked to create an account, told to remember a password, and shown a screen with fourteen icons. On the third day her phone was out of storage, on the fifth she was back on WhatsApp, and the host, who had just paid for a year, was back to typing addresses.

Software for cleaners has one job before any other: be used by cleaners. So Lemon does not ask them to install anything.

What the cleaner actually sees

An offer, on the app she already has. Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS or email — you choose per cleaner. The message has the property, the address, the date and the time, and two buttons: accept, decline. If she does nothing for 60 minutes, the job moves on to the next cleaner and she is not chased.

A link, when it is hers. It opens today's job in her phone's browser: the address with a map, the access details you stored once, the checklist for that flat, and a camera. She ticks areas, takes a photo per area, and reports a problem in one tap if there is one. No account, no login, no app; the link is the key.

A reminder the day before, and changes when a guest extends, so the schedule in her head is the schedule in the calendar.

That is the entire interface. A cleaner who can use WhatsApp can use it in the first hour; the acceptance rate below says they do.

Why Telegram first

Telegram messages are free, instant, and Lemon can see when they were read. A cleaner links once by opening Lemon's bot and typing a short code you give her; from then on every offer, confirmation and reminder arrives there with the job link inside. WhatsApp works the same way through the official business API, with the consent recorded, and SMS is there for the cleaner who has neither. In production, 15 of Lemon's 20 cleaners are on Telegram, 3 on WhatsApp, one on SMS and one on email — the team decides, not the software.

What you set up, once

Add a cleaner, pick their channel, and put them in the order you want jobs offered per property. That is the onboarding. For Telegram they send one code; for WhatsApp they say yes once. There is no training session, because there is nothing to train.

The number that shows it works

Cleaners have accepted 360 of 392 job offers sent through Lemon — 92 per cent — with a median of 37 minutes between the offer and the tap. Those are the numbers of a team that opens the messages. Nothing about a checklist, a photo or a payout matters until that is true.
